Diploma Embossing
Diploma Embossing is a newer feature now available from Graduation Ink. The printing technique of embossing embodies style and sophistication. The word itself actually means to carve or mold. Learn more about the types of embossing from this article.
This image shows two types of embossing, blind embossing and metallic foil embossing. The olive branches around the logo are an example of blind embossing. The paper fibers are molded into the shape of a metal die. No heat is applied, but a mated metal and fiberglass die press up from the back of the paper to make the raised imprint. The multi-color foil embossing applies the color onto the paper first using a heated die. After the color is applied, the custom die presses up from the bottom of the paper making the embossed imprint effect through the shiny foil.
A custom-made die is created for all embossing orders extending production time by one week for each order. In addition, all created dies incur a one-time manufacturing fee, however, that cost is absorbed when the dies are used for future print runs as Graduation Ink keeps the dies on file.
